4-HO-MET (other names: 4-hydroxy-N-methyl-N-ethyltryptamine, metocin, methylcybin) is a psychedelic drug, an analogue of psilocin and methylethyltryptamine (MET). This drug was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin and described in the book TiHKAL (I Knew and Loved Tryptamines).
Chemistry
4-HO-MET is a derivative of psilocin and 4-hydroxyl analog of methylethyltryptamine (MET).
Pharmacology
4-HO-MET is a designer substance and its properties are not fully understood, all known data are given from studies and the use of preaprate in mice.
4-HO-MET can cause effects such as distortion of color, sound and shape, time dilation, changes in thought processes, and euphoria. At a dosage of 10-20 mg, the duration of the effect is from 4 to 6 hours.
