PiPTapentadol

PiPTapentadol is an opioid analgesic, a Tapentadol derivative, developed for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. This drug has a dual mode of analgesic action.:
-as a complete agonist of the μ-opioid receptor;
-as a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI).
Unlike tramodol, it has weak effects on serotonin and is a more powerful opioid, comparable to oxycodone in the correct dosage. The opioid effect of Piptapentadol is somewhere between that of tramadol and morphine.

Pharmacology

The toxicological and pharmacological properties of this drug are under study. Studies in mice have shown that PiPTapentadol acts as a moderately strong opioid analgesic at a dosage where 50 mg of piptapentadol corresponds to 10 mg of oxycodone.
